WE ARE VERY PROUD TO HAVE HELPED BRING SALVADOR DALI’S 25-PIECE SERIES ALIYAH TO THE OREGON JEWISH MUSEUM AND CENTER FOR HOLOCAUST EDUCATION

ON VIEW JUNE 11 – AUGUST 13, 2023

For thousands of years, return to the land of Israel and the restoration of a Jewish state was a dream, shared from generation to generation. Theodor Herzl interrupted mere reverie with his call to action, “If you will it, it is no dream.” Less than fifty years later the State of Israel was established.

To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Israel’s founding, Salvador Dali, the master Surrealist who explored the dreamscape of life for the truths it disclosed, was commissioned to produce twenty-five paintings.

His series, titled Aliyah, provokes the question: Has the dream now become real? Has the work of imagination been fulfilled? Or is Dali calling upon us to, in the words of former Israeli prime minister and president Shimon Peres, “Never stop dreaming.”
