In their journey to the land of promise, the Israelites’ biggest stumbling block is, curiously, the dream they have carried in their hearts for generations: the possibility of creating and governing their own country. In the wilderness of Paran, the majority choose to live in the dreamworld rather than make the dream real in the world. Their decision sentences them to a lifetime of wandering.
